farforfigurines
A huge, voluminous, unusually realistic and exquisite sculpture of three lion cubs, pressed against each other, made almost in life-size for small lion cubs, made of magnificent glazed porcelain. Incredible detailing and painting, possible only on a large-sized sculpture. Simply stunning fringe on the ears of the lions, piercing gaze of green eyes, slightly pinkish auricle inside. The lion cubs are just as if alive, but for a moment they froze in the sculpture!
Judging by the hallmark, the inscriptions next to the hallmark on the bottom under the glaze and the shape of the bottom date back to 1900-1920. Also on the bottom there is a green inscription stating that the sculpture is hand painted. Underglaze green mark of Karl Ens on the bottom, the famous mill. Also in the test with a chisel on a shard number 5115 3.
A very beautiful, exquisite work. Hand painted with underglaze paints in soft tones, characteristic of the original works of KARL ENSA from the beginning of the 20th century.
The dimensions of the sculptural group as a whole are approximately Height 33 cm. Length 44 cm. Width 46 cm.
The dimensions of the lion cub, sitting in the center, are approximately Height 28 cm, width 30 cm.
Excellent collectible condition! No acquired defects. No chips, cracks, scratches, visible defects. For a large sculpture of this age, the preservation is truly unique! Between the front paws of the lion cubs there is what looks like a hidden stove crack and there is also a trace of a stove crack on the stand, hidden under the glaze during production. These manufacturing defects are fully consistent with the manufacturing defects of this manufactory in the period from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century and are more likely to be additional confirmation of the more than a hundred-year age of the unique sculpture than real shortcomings.
You can become the owner of a truly unique work!
A porcelain sculpture from one of the most expensive and titled porcelain manufactories in the world, Karl Ens Germany, is deservedly considered a "living sculpture" because it is so authentic and realistic.
