We are now seeking a competent, experienced and, above all, passionate Head of Learning Support to join the team from August 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Development and Implementation of SEN Programmes:

- Design, develop, and implement specialised SEN programs tailored to the unique learning needs of students.

- Collaborate with school leadership and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of SEN programs with overall educational objectives.

- Stay abreast of best practices and research in the field of special education to continuously improve program effectiveness.

Individual Development Plans (IDPs):

- Oversee the creation and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for students with SEN, ensuring that plans are tailored to each student's strengths, needs, and learning goals.

- Monitor progress and regularly review IDPs to make necessary adjustments based on student performance and development.

Student Support and Advocacy:

- Serve as an advocate for students with SEN, ensuring that their rights and needs are respected and accommodated within the school environment.

- Provide support and guidance to teachers, parents, and students in navigating challenges related to SEN and accessing appropriate resources and support services.

- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide additional support and services as needed.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

- Collect and analyse data related to student progress, program effectiveness, and outcomes for continuous improvement.

- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to school leadership, staff, and other stakeholders.

- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions. Prepare reports as required, highlighting trends, areas of concern, and recommendations for improvement.

Leadership and Team Management:

- Provide effective leadership to a team of SEN teachers and School Counsellors, ensuring clear communication, support, and professional development opportunities.

- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment conducive to the success of both students and staff.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.

Collaborative Partnerships & PD:

- Collaborate with the Academic Leaders, teachers, administrators, and support staff to create a holistic wellbeing and support system for students. Foster positive relationships with parents, encouraging open communication and involvement in their child's pastoral care.

- Organise and deliver professional development sessions for staff members on topics related to SEN and counselling. Equip teachers with strategies and tools to identify and support students in need, including raising awareness of available resources and best practices.

- Organise and participate in school awareness campaigns, or peer mentoring initiatives. Foster a sense of belonging, respect and inclusivity within the school community.

Requirements:

- A Degree in SEN or School Counselling is a must.

- Middle Leadership experience.

- Positive attitude to challenging situations and tasks.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive school culture.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00

This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major turning point.General responsibilities:- Be an active and collaborative member of the class-team including participation in collaborative PYP meetings, development and following classroom management rules, essentials team rules, approaches to teaching. - Collaborate with other team teachers (homeroom teacher and co-teacher(s)) to ensure a seamless transition between activities and programmes of the first and second parts of the day.- Transfer teaching skills and experience to extracurricular assistants, including class daily routines and management.- Design and plan extracurricular activities that are age-appropriate, engaging for children and are aligned with the curriculum.- Ensure that all the necessary materials and resources are in place to facilitate the activities.- Deliver extracurricular activities.Encourage children to participate and engage in activities and facilitate discussions that encourage critical thinking.- Transform challenging situations in the classroom into educational tools (dressing up, cleaning up, etc.). - Monitor and ensure that students follow established routines and procedures.- Support children in personal hygiene and wellbeing routines.- Ensure safety and wellbeing of the children as well as proper school property usage in the Primary section of the school through maintaining a safe and secure environment, and supervising children to ensure that they are following the established rules, routines and procedures and behaving appropriately. - Ensure that the children are picked up by their parents at the end of the day.- Maintain confidentiality about children’s learning, development and care at all times.- Communicate with the parents in order to provide them feedback about their children's learning experience and wellbeing in the second half of the school day. - Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training as required.- Follow all relevant policies and procedures regarding safety, child protection, and health and safety.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Pre–primary education is an advantage. - Professional Educator Diploma or other teacher qualification if available (e.g. QTS, PGCE).- Fluency in English level C1 at least and international mindedness.- Familiar with technology use in teaching and learning. - Compassionate and attentive to students; knows how children learn and can support their learning.- Remember how to be curious and awed by the world around.- Can create and improvise and has a desire to co-create a child-centred curriculum and bring it to life.- Has a mild allergy to sitting at the desk and strictly following the prescribed curriculum.
