Very beautiful figure of a polar bear, made in glazed porcelain. Careful attention to the smallest details.
The "Polar Bear" was created at the IPM (Imperial Porcelain Factory) by the famous sculptor August Timus in the early 1900s. The presented figure was already produced at the LPZ until the end of the 1930s.
Timus August Karlovich (1865-after 1918) - Russian sculptor. Originally from the peasants of Estonia (Estonia). He studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts. He served at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg as a technician. Then he headed the sculpture department. Created animal figurines for the Faberge firm. One of the organizers of the Society of Sculptors.
