Koma Inu (Lion of Buddha) is a mythical creature - a dog with the head of a lion, an expressive cabinet sculpture from the Kutani workshops.

The Koma Inu rests its two front paws on a magical ball of wisdom, carved and gilded.

According to Japanese beliefs, images of Komainu, or Lion Buddha, protect against evil spirits and are amulets for the home, premises and storage. Such amulets in the form of KOMAINU decorate the premises of banks, offices and insurance companies.
