An extremely rare set of 6x framed colored prints in like new condition, created by John Leigh Pemberton back in 1940s as follows:
1) Urban scene in Victorian England 1751-1767;
2) Victorians in a garden 1850-1865;
3) A soldier who had fought at Waterloo in countryside 1836-1850;
4) Lake scene 1865-1883;
5) Hillside in a Sloucester vale 1787-1805;
6) Painting the rural scene 1767-1787

*About the artist*
John Leigh-Pemberton, ROI, NS (1911-1997) was a well-known painter of portraits, figures, flowers and other flora and fauna, and a designer and illustrator. Leigh-Pemberton was educated at Eton and studied art in London. During World War II he was awarded the Air Force Cross for services to flying instruction. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1935, with the New English Art Club from 1934, at The National Society (elected a member 1934) and at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (elected a member 1935). He illustrated a large number of books, especially for children and on natural history, including A Book of British Wild Flowers and many Ladybird publications. His work is held in a number of public collections including The Imperial War Museum, National Maritime Museum, Government Art Collection and Wolverhampton Art Gallery. He lived in south-west London and died in Surrey.
