Dan clark audio aeon 2 noire - portability bundle
- Type: Headphones
- Condition: Used
Hello!
It’s with a heavy heart that I have to sell my very first high end headphone but the means do justify the ends since I am selling it to raise funds for its new sibling the Noire X. I am selling it as a portability bundle that includes:
DCA Aeon 2 Noire closed-back planar headphones
Official DCA carrying case
2m 4-Pin XLR Cable
Manual
Tuning kit that alters the sound: Black foam, a black felt and a pair of 2 notches in white
Certificate of authenticity
Qudelix 5k bluetooth dac/amp (Dual ES9219 3.5mm Unbalanced 2.0V RMS & 2.5mm Balanced Output 4.0V RMS, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, AAC, aptX-HD, 20 band equalizer)
USB C-to-C Cable (120mm)
USB C-to-A Cable (120mm)
XLR to 2.5mm adapter from Gladiator Cables to use the Qudelix in balanced mode with the Aeon’s XLR cable.
1.5m custom balanced 2.5mm 16 core upgrade cable to use Qudelix in balanced mode.
An amazing set of closed-back cans that have served me well for two years now. My main library consists of electro and techno and dat planar bass shines with aplomb and coupled with a sexy wide soundstage, it’s love at first hearing. For the Harman aficionados the Noire is closer to Harman, with a bit more bass and treble and they take EQ pretty well to adjust them to your needs. They are by far the most comfortable headphones in my sonic stable and their portability is unmatched. That’s why I am selling the Aeons as a portable bundle with the Qudelix 5K and a custom 1.5m 2.5mm balanced cable.
Sonically they are perfect. Aesthetically though as you can see from the photos there is paint peeling on the gimbals. I emailed DCA and they said its from a bad batch of anodizing and if I wanted to I could send them to them for free repainting and also free shipping back. I didn’t mind the paint peel that much so I never got to send them back.
The Aeon 2 Noire needs a lot of current to make them shine and the Qudelix on 2.5mm balanced mode does an excellent job in driving them to excellent sonic performance.
If you have any questions let me know.
