Job Role-Host/Hostess presents a positive first impression of the establishment’s friendliness, excellent service and high standards.-Greets Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, enter Guest names into a log, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.-Performs light housekeeping duties such as cleaning/polishing glasses and menus.-As a member of an energetic team, Host/Hostess may also need to answer phones and take reservations. Duties & Responsibilities-Upon starting the shift the host/ess reviews the reservations, follows up on double bookings in different outlets and checks all special occasions and amenity requests (flowers/cakes etc.).-Informs the Restaurant Supervisor or Head Waiter about special occasions and amenity requests.-Has an in-depth knowledge about the menus (food and beverage) and the weekly restaurant program and is well informed about hotel procedures.-Escorts guests to tables, assists with chair seating. May offer an aperitif and/or water/drink and wishes the guest a pleasant evening.-Informs respective waiter about the name and room number of the table and, if appropriate, about aperitif or drink order.-Ensures full guest satisfaction upon the departure of the guests. -Reports all accidents, health and safety hazards to the head waiter or Restaurant Supervisor immediately.-Executes other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor from time to time due to operational needs. Requirements-Previous experience as a Host/Hostess at a hotel-Excellent knowledge of English.
