The Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus, which first opened its doors to 500 students in September 2022, is currently seeking passionate, experienced, and competent professionals to join our team.
As we grow, we are in the process of planning our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site to be completed approximately by end of 2025, that will include kindergartens, elementary and high schools, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. Now we are seeking an experienced Deputy Project Manager overseeing and managing construction projects from conception to completion Strategic Construction project. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Deputy Project Manager will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects, managing resources, and maintaining effective communication with clients, contractors, and team members.
Location: Limassol, Agiou Fanouriou Street
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00-17.00.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate and manage all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and design through to construction and project closeout.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Act as a point of contact for the Employer, Clients, Consultants, Contractors and Subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, address issues, and ensure effective communication among all parties.
- Manage client expectations and ensure their requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure project needs are met.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
- Monitor and control project costs, making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget.
- Implement and enforce quality control standards and safety protocols on all projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and permits.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues promptly.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle to minimise impact on project delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports and forecast costs.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure all project documentation is filed and archived appropriately upon project completion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction or Development industries.
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.
- Fluency in Greek both written and spoken is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid work permit for employment within Europe.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness and contract management skills including the ability to look after the interests of the Employer.
- A Team player and willing to get involved and learn different areas of work.
- Fluent English is a must and the ability to communicate in Greek is a plus.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience of implementing a robust health and safety environment.
- Ability to work in a fast moving environment with the ability to be flexible with an out of the box approach to issues.
- Design knowledge and particular know-how in building construction.
- Attention to detail must have, in all aspects of the role inter alia; formal communication and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge/experience of dealing with Local Authorities and Utility Companies.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred but not a deal breaker.
