About Us

Our mission has always been to provide a platform for people to not only sell and buy cars, houses and appartments in Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca, but to provide a free classified ads website for all of Cyprus for everything you could possibly imagine: car parts, lost dogs, telephones, unused computers and screens, refrigerators, TV's, satellite dishes, children and baby items no longer used, etc. We were, and still are, very annoyed when seeing so much stuff being dumped in Cyprus' beautiful nature.

The current owners of the website are Erik, Onno and Saskia. Erik and Saskia were part of the original founding team and are responsible for Marketing & Sales, as well as answering your helpdesk questions. Onno is in charge of the programming and adding cool new features to the site. He is also incredibly patient with Erik and Saskia who always want MORE and preferably NOW :-)

The latest addition to the team is Eva. This beautiful Greek speaking lady is in charge of keeping the Greek parts of the website up-to-date and answering helpdesk questions in Greek. We also have Christos on board who takes over from Eva when she is too busy with her full time job. And of course we have our many users who report back to us when seeing something on the site they do not like or if there is a seller or potential buyer they do not trust.

The languages spoken, and in which you can contact us, are Greek, English, Dutch, Danish, German, Spanish and French. The team is located in Cyprus, Switzerland and The Netherlands, a truly global enterprise of which we are very proud and our thanks go out to the founders of Skype, without whom we would have a very difficult time :-)

The reason Erik and Saskia (and Robert and Boudewijn who did the original programming) started Bazaraki.com was because they were really missing an easy to use, low cost, online buying and selling website that specifically covered Cyprus. After a year of research, programming, testing and fine-tuning, the team proudly put the result online in 2006. Since then they are busy online every day (besides their normal jobs) improving, tweaking and especially making sure the website stays a safe and fun place to buy and sell.

When the team originally started, not many people were online (or using dial-up connections) and marketing activities were mainly focussed on foreign users, as many had comparable websites at home and were used to buying and selling their goods this way. Since 2010 a definite shift has been noticed in the number of Greek users (finally) discovering that all those things laying around the house can actually easily be sold and that the internet is not only limited to buying and selling cars and real estate. We have seen some fantastic items coming by now, from mechanical rodeo bulls to ice cream tricycles.

Finally we would like to thank Mr. Lakis Christodoulos of Pyrgos village, aka the "truck driver", who came up with the name "Bazaraki" during a brain storming session. We are forever grateful for your brilliant brainwave.

Bazaraki.com is officially registered in Nicosia under the name BZRK Ltd.

PS Do not forget to tell your friends, family and colleagues about us. The more people know and spread the word, the easier it will be for you (and others) to sell your stuff. Efgaristo!
